Watermelon Floorcloth


  Fun summer project! Paint a floor cloth using a scrap of linoleum, Krylon Dual Spray paint and some acrylic craft paint. Super easy and fun!

What you need:

  • (1) can Krylon Gloss RedDual Paint + Primer
  • (1) can Krylon Gloss Green Dual Paint + Primer
  • Scrap linoleum
  • Marking pen
  • Scissors
  • Craft paper or paper bags (to make template)
  • #10 flat paint brush
  •  small round brush
  • White, dark green craft and black craft paint
  • Polyurethane

How and How Long:

  1. Cut linoleum scrap into 'watermelon' shape.
  2. Cut 'watermelon' template from craft paper.
  3. Spray 2 coats watermelon using Krylon Cherry Red. Allow to dry between coats.
  4. Spray 2 coats watermelon using Krylon Forest Green. Allow to dry between coats.
  5. Paint black watermelon seeds.
  6. Dot each seed with white paint.
  7. Seal floorcloth with 3 coats polyurethane. Allow to dry fully between coats. 
Approximate project time: 4 hours, including dry time.
