Dollar Store Animal Bookends


  Dollar store toys and acrylic frames are transformed into whimsical or elegant animal head bookends with just a bit of Krylon spray paint!

What you need:

  • (1) can Krylon spray paint, color of your choice
  • Dollar store plastic animal toys
  • Acrylic picture frames
  • Super glue
  • Scissors

How and How Long:

  1. Using scissors, carefully cut the plastic animal in half.
  2. Using the super glue, attach the front end of the animal to one acrylic frame and the back end to another.
  3. Be careful to place the toy so that the animal's feet touch the table when the frame is standing.
  4. Spray paint the bookends with Krylon Oil Rubbed bronze spray paint for an elegant, high-end look or with a bright neon color for a funky, modern look.
Approximate proejct time: 1 hour.
