Topgraphical Globe and Pedestal


  Make a personalized art globe from an old lamp and thrift store materials!

What you need:

  • (1) can Krylon Brushed Metallic Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint
  • (1) can Krylon Brushed Metallic Champagne Nouveau spray paint
  • (1) can of Clear protective spray paint
  • Globe Lamp base (with metal rod and hex nuts)
  • Wax paper
  • Alphabet stickers in various sizes and fonts
  • Packing tape
  • Marker
  • Scissors

How and How Long:

  1. Reconfigure the lamp base parts over the metal rod into a pedestal. Secure with hex nuts.
  2. Spray the pedestal and globe axis with Oil Rubbed Bronze.
  3. Trace each continent onto wax paper.
  4. Spray the globe with Champagne Nouveau.
  5. Cover each traced continent with packing tape.
  6. Cover each continent with alphabet stickers.
  7. Cut out the continents and peel off the wax paper.
  8. Stick the continents onto the globe.
  9. Spray globe with protective spray.
  10. Assemble the globe and place it on the pedestal.
Approximate project time: 3 hours.
