Refurbished Rocking Chair

I pulled this child sized rocking chair out of the trash, gave it a fresh coat of spray paint, a new seat and a little fabric on the back and now it looks beautiful.

What you need:

  • (2) cans of Krylon Indoor/Outdoor spray paint (any color)
  • Plywood chair base (or plywood cut to size)
  • Batting remnant of canvas cover (less than 1 yard)
  • Remnant fabric
  • Hemmed spare button
  • Sand paper

How and How Long:

  1. Give a slight sanding to the rocking chair and plywood.
  2. Spray paint the entire chair and allow time to dry.
  3. Staple batting and canvas to plywood to create seat cover.
  4. Hem fabric, wrap around seat top and secure with a button in back.
Approximate project time: 2 hours.

What it Costs:

Cost is $15 for spray paint and supplies.
