Make a framed chalkboard with with items you may already have on hand! For this project, I used a framed mirror from my daughter's bedroom and painted the cardboard backing. The mirror portion was removed for the project but can easily be re-inserted for future use.

What you need:

  • (1) can Krylon Chalkboard spray paint
  • (1) framed mirror with easy removeable backing
  • Newspaper or drop cloth

How and How Long:

  1. The mirror was held in place with simple bendable hooks which I pried open with my fingers – no special tool required.
  2. I removed the mirror and kept the cardboard backing.
  3. I used newspaper to protect surface befor e painitng. I spray painted the cardboard with chalkboard paint and let it dry over night.
  4. I replaced the cardboard backing and secured with the bendable hooks. The result is a fabulous framed chalkboard with different sections for different uses!
