Cheri's Chalkboard Coasters

I made some super fun chalkboard coasters so they serve a dual purpose. We can play tic-tac-toe, leave messages and use them as coasters.

What you need:

  • Tiles
  • Paper
  • Krylon Easy-Tack(TM) Adhesive Spray (#7020)
  • Krylon Chalkboard Paint (#807)
  • Paint brush
  • Sanding bug
  • Self adhesive velvet or cork board
  • Chalk
  • Pencil
  • Scissors

How and How Long:

  1. This was a super fast, super easy and super fun project. Trace the shape of the tiles on the back side of the paper - make it just a little smaller than the size of the tile.
  2. Cut out the paper.
  3. Apply Easy Tak to top of your tiles and immediately apply the paper to the top of the tile.
  4. Sand the edges of the paper so nothing is sticking up.
  5. Paint the paper with chalkboard paint.
  6. Apply self adhesive velvet or get corkboard for the bottom of the tiles and apply with the Easy Tak.
  7. Let the paint cure then scribble over the chalkboard tiles with chalkboard.
  8. Let the FUN begin. I made 9 tiles so the kids can play tic-tac-toe as well!

What it Costs:

Depending on what products you already have at home, this is affordable and definitely under $20.
