Luxe Planes, Trains and Automobiles

This baby shower was created by Luxe. Event Design, to put a CHIC and MODERN twist on a CLASSIC theme! Really easy to do, we used Krylon paints to enhance decorative elements of this Boy CHIC shower. We painted PLANES, TRAINS, AUTOMOBILES and PACIFIERS!

What you need:

  • (2) cans of Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Spray Paint in Smoke Gray, Gloss
  • (2) Cans Triple Thick Clear Glaze
  • 0500 Acrylic Paint (used for details and to stamp canvas)
  • Wooden Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
  • Canvas
  • Stencil
  • Stamp
  • Plastic party favor
  • Pacifiers
  • Fishing Line
  • Basic paint brushes

How and How Long:

  1. For plane, trian, and automobiles: Spray paint objects with Smoke Gray following directions on can - let dry for 10 minutes. If it did not coat the way you like or for richer color, follow step 1 again and let dry.
  2. Paint details on objects using acrylic paint - let dry for 10 minutes.
  3. Spray dried spray painted objects with Triple-Thick Crystal Clear Glaze following directions on can. Wait 2 -3 minutes and spray 2nd coat. LET DRY for 24 HOURS before handling! Trust me, you will avoid smudging!
  1. For Pacifiers: Tie one end of fishing line from a tree or post.
  2. Add pacifiers from other end.
  3. Tie opposite end of fishing line and space out pacifiers.
  4. Spray pacifiers with GLOSS SMOKE GRAY paint using directions on can.
  5. Apply second coat if needed (wait at least 1 minute).
  6. Let dry for 10 minutes.
  7. Once dry, spray TRIPLE-THICK CRYSTAL CLEAR GLAZE following directions on can.
  8. Again LET DRY for 24 hours. Trust me, if you handle too soon, it will smudge :-)
  1. Stamped Canvas: You can you any stencil stamp to add a design to the canvas with acrylic paint (I used damask).
  2. Affix ribbon to the back of canvas (I used hot glue, because I LOVE it)!
  3. Adhere dried planes to center of pattern on canvas (HOT GLUE!) VIOLA! you have super CHIC boy shower decor!!! View full project photos at http://luxeeventdesignllc.blogspot.com/20
