Storage Cube Makeover

I've been hanging on to these lovely desktop organizers since my freshman year of college. They were perfect for my itty-bitty, first apartment but I outgrew the color scheme, fast! I knew they had oodles of potential so I packed them up and moved them from apartment to apartment and also from state to state!

What you need:

  • 8 wood laminate storage cubes from Target
  • (1) can Krylon Spray Paint Primer
  • (2) cans Krylon Spray Paint in White Semi-Gloss
  • (1) can Krylon Spray Paint in Blue Ocean Breeze
  • (1) can Krylon Spray Paint in Clear Acrylic
  • Recycled paper
  • Blue painters tape

How and How Long:

  1. Prime boxes, if desired, and let dry.
  2. Once dry, apply 2-3 coats of semi-gloss white on each cube, inside and out.
  3. After a day of dry-time, wrap and tape off the exterior or the cube, exposing only the inside portion that you would like to paint.
  4. Grab your Blue Ocean Breeze and paint the inside with light, even coats.
  5. Once fully dry, protect each cube with a coat of crystal clear acrylic spray paint.
Approximate project time: 1.5 hours.
