Accent Table


  Transform an old nightstand or side table into a piece that complements the rest of your décor. Add just one or two well-chosen accessories on top and keep clutter to a minimum for maximum buyer appeal.

What you need:

  • 2 cans Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Primer in a color close to your paint color
  • 2 cans Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Paint in desired color
  • Drop cloth
  • Medium grit sandpaper
  • Tack cloth
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Screwdriver (optional)

How and How Long:

  1. Remove drawers. If necessary, remove knobs or pulls from the drawers and set aside.
  2. Place table and drawers on a flat work surface covered with a drop cloth or newspapers.
  3. Clean dirt and any loose paint from the surface. Sand imperfections smooth and wipe clean with a tack cloth.
  4. Following the instructions on the can, apply primer to the table and to the drawer fronts. Use short sweeping strokes to prevent overspray. Let dry.
  5. Following the instructions on the can, apply several light coats of Krylon Indoor/Outdoor paint to the table and to the drawer fronts. Let dry completely before reassembling.
  6. Reattach knobs or pulls to drawer fronts.
  7. Replace drawers and place in room.
Approximate project time: 1 - 1.5 hours
