Lamp


  The right lighting can make the smallest of rooms seem bigger. Wow buyers with your room by updating an old lamp with a modern color or finish that perfectly coordinates with your décor.

What you need:

  • 1 can Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Primer in a color close to your paint color
  • 1 can Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Paint or Brushed Metallics in desired color
  • Drop cloth or newspaper
  • Medium grit sandpaper
  • Mild detergent and water
  • Cleaning cloth
  • Masking tape

How and How Long:

  1. Unplug the lamp from the wall. Remove the lampshade and light bulb and set them aside. Place lamp base on newspaper or a drop cloth.
  2. Clean the lamp thoroughly to remove dust and loose paint. Lightly sand glossy pr shiny surfaces and remove sanding residue with a tack cloth.
  3. Mask off the socket, switch, cord and any other parts that you do not want painted. Following the directions on the can, apply the primer to the entire surface of the lamp. Let dry.
  4. Following the instructions on the can, spray the base of the lamp with Krylon Indoor/Outdoor paint. Apply several light coats to prevent runs and drips. Spray at different angles to ensure all areas are covered. Let dry.
  5. When the lamp base is completely dry, unmask and reattach parts.
