Outdoor Storage Bench

Garden storage benches sit outside year-round, exposing them to a variety of weather conditions. Not only will a fresh coat of paint make them look nicer, it will also protect them from future wear and tear.

What you need:

  • 2 cans Krylon Semi-Transparent Wood Stain in desired color
  • Drop cloth
  • Masking tape
  • All-purpose cleaner
*Note: To paint plastic storage benches, use Krylon Fusion paint

How and How Long:

  1. Tape off any areas of bin that will not be painted.
  2. Cover work surface with drop cloth and protect surrounding areas from overspray using drop cloths or newspaper.
  3. Using an all-purpose cleaner, thoroughly clean the bin to remove dirt, oils, and dust.
  4. Following the instructions on the can, apply Krylon Semi-Transparent Stain. Moving from left to right, begin spraying off of the surface and finish off the other side. Do not over apply.
  5. If an additional coat is desired, wait 15 minutes before applying.
  6. Let dry completely.
Approximate project time: 1 hour.

What it Costs:
