Kitchen Cabinet Hardware


  Real estate experts will tell you - kitchens sell homes. Adding a modern metallic finish to your existing cabinet hardware will quickly and inexpensively give your kitchen an updated look.

What you need:

  • 1-2 Cans Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Primer in a color close to paint color
  • 1-2 Cans Krylon Brushed Metallic in desired finish Medium grit sandpaper
  • Drop cloth or newspaper
  • Screwdriver
  • Lint free rag

How and How Long:

  1. Use screwdriver to remove hardware from cabinet doors and drawers
  2. Cover your work surface with the drop cloth or newspaper to protect the area from overspray
  3. Lightly sand the knobs and drawer pulls to create a profile so that the primer will adhere well
  4. Remove any sanding residue as well as any grease, dirt or oils.
  5. Following the instructions on the can, apply the primer first using several light coats versus one heavy coat. If paint is applied to heavily, it may run or drip. If this happens, sand smooth and reapply primer. Let dry.
  6. Following the instructions on the can, apply several light coats of Brushed Metallic. Let dry.
  7. Re-install knobs and pulls and enjoy!
