How and How Long:
- Cover your work area and the floor with newspaper or a drop cloth. Make sure you are in a well ventilated area.

- Remove the flag from the mailbox.

- If you are painting an old mailbox that is rusty or worn, sand the areas until smooth. The surface should be clean, dry and dull.

- Prop the mailbox open side down (with door hanging open) on an object such as a 2x4, foam cube or tall container so that all exterior surfaces are free of obstructions.

- If you are painting a plastic mailbox, apply a coat of Krylon Fusion for Plastic White to the mailbox and the flag. If you are painting a metal mailbox, skip this step.

- Apply multiple thin coats of Krylon Stainless Steel Finish until you have achieved the coverage you desire. Paint the flag as well.
Allow to dry.

- Reattach the flag.

 Approximate project time: 15-20 minutes.
