Iron Man Model Rocket

I have loved model rockets since I was a kid, but instead of building from kits I prefer to make funky ones from scratch. About a year ago, I got the idea to make a dual-engine model rocket in the shape of Iron Man.

What you need:

  • 3 Cans of Krylon Spray Paint (Red, Gold, and White)
  • 3 Sheets of foam core
  • 1 Roll of masking tape
  • A few 24mm Rocket Tubes for model rockets
  • Launching Base
*NOTE: Original author: seamster. This project won a prize in the Krylon Summer Projects Contest on www.Instructables.com.

How and How Long:

  1. Build a body like shape using the foam core.
  2. Place the rocket tubes in each of the legs.
  3. Cover the body in masking tape to allow a good spraying surface.
  4. Spray the surface down with your Krylon paint.
  5. Set up the body on a launching base and let it go!

What it Costs:

Cost is approximately $100.
