Faux Mercury Glass Skull


  Take a glass skull (mine is a large votive holder), and give it a faux mercury glass look using a water/vinegar mixture and Krylon Looking Glass spray paint.

What you need:

  • (1) Glass skull
  • (1) can Krylon Looking Glass spray paint
  • Spray bottle containing 50% water and 50% white distilled vinegar
  • Paper towel
  

How and How Long:

  1. Clean the glass.
  2. Lightly spray the glass with the water/vinegar solution.
  3. Quickly give the glass a coat of the Looking Glass spray paint.
  4. After approximately 2 minutes, gently dab at the liquid drops with the paper towel to remove the paint from those areas.
  5. Repeat until you have the desired look on the glass.

Approximate project time: 1 hour.
